Reds Canyon Dawn - San Rafael Swell, Utah
The crimson light of dawn sweeps across the Navajo and Moenkopi walls of Reds Canyon. A beautiful wrinkle in a vast, enchanted area known as the San Rafael Swell, the canyon cuts through more than 200 million years of geologic history. The Swell, as varied and spectacular as Canyonlands or Arches, has been repeatedly proposed for National Park status. Though there are currently several Wilderness Study Areas within the Swell, no land as yet has Congressional protection.
