Sandstone Garden - Arches National Park, Utah
Alpine snows drape the La Sal Mountains above a garden of Entrada Sandstone arches and spires. A place of surreal juxtapositions, Arches National Park is a landscape that provokes the imagination and stirs the spirit. Though relatively small, the park contains over two thousand natural arches and countless sandstone hoodoos and domes. Long recognized as a geological wonder, the area was designated a National Park in 1971. Today, the prospect of oil has drawn commercial interests near the park’s eastern boundary.
