Delicate Arch - Arches National Park, Utah
Layers of geologic history are frozen, like a stone rainbow, in the graceful curve of Delicate Arch. An icon of the American West, Delicate Arch is perhaps the most recognizable landform in the country and has come to symbolize the unique beauty of our public lands. It is one of more than 2400 arches within the 73,379-acre confines of Arches National Park. Originally designated a national monument in 1929, Arches was expanded in 1971 and elevated to national park status.
