Stone Lake Reflections - Front Range, Colorado
The sun drenched ridge of Marten Peak reflects deep in the mirror still waters of Stone Lake. Hidden in a hanging valley within Colorado’s Indian Peaks Wilderness, Stone Lake is a mere twenty-five linear miles from the Front Range metropolis. Yet this alpine basin offers solitude amidst inspiring scenery, a vital resource of wilderness. Protected by Congress in 1978, the 76,308-acre preserve includes more than forty peaks over 12,000 feet along the Continental Divide crest.
