Canyon Ripples - Escalante, Utah
Alternating reflections of canyon walls and sky ripple around a stoic stone in the convoluted confines of Coyote Gulch. A spectacular tributary of the Escalante drainage, Coyote Gulch contains a perennial stream that provided irrigation for the Anasazi more than a thousand years ago. Today, it lies within the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, a vast area of canyons and mesas that contains some of the most remote land in the lower forty eight.
