Maroon Bells Reflections - Elk Range, Colorado
The soft hues of dawn gently flood the valley beneath the snow sprinkled strata of the Maroon Bells. North Maroon Peak and more distant Maroon Peak reach skyward a dizzying 14,014-feet and 14,156-feet respectively. Among a group of six “fourteeners”, the Bells form the centerpiece of the Elk Range. Much of the range is preserved within the 181,447-acre Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, establish in 1964 with the original Wilderness Act.
