A talisman of the high country, Medicine Mountain is hidden in the intricate landscape of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. At nearly one million acres, the wilderness encompasses two mountain ranges, as well as the austere Beartooth Plateau, the largest landmass over 10,000 feet in the United States. A landscape of stunning diversity, the “AB” burgeons with nearly 400 species of plants and more than 1000 lakes. Congress designated this national treasure in 1978.
