Crimson hues of evening flood the layered valleys of Glacier Peak Wilderness Area. Established in 1964, the area encompasses 572,338 acres and shares its northern border with North Cascades National Park. Glacier Peak, at the heart of the wilderness, is the most remote of the Cascades' famous volcanoes and offers quiet solitude not found at its more popular neighbors.
