Convoluted Stone And Mist
Rocky Mountain National Park
Colorado

Twisted waves of weathered granite wash through a misty forest of conifers and aspen. The gothic granite forms are remnants of an ancient plain that was raised about six million years ago to form an area aptly named Lumpy Ridge. The ridge is now part of Rocky Mountain National Park. Established in 1915, the park’s boundaries currently include more than 415 square miles.
